Do you have an FRS (Family Radio Service) or GMRS (General Mobile Radio Service) radio around the house?  If so, do you know how to use it?

Medina County Texas REACT monitors all FRS and GMRS frequencies during disasters & emergencies.

To practice using your radio, every Friday night at 9pm, turn your radio to channel 19 (no privacy tones set) and see who you can communicate with here in our Community.  Making sure you have fresh batteries, stepping outside and ensuring your squelch is all the way down (see owners manual) will increase your chances of contacting somebody.

Most all FRS and GMRS radios are preprogrammed with channel 19.  If you need to program your radio, channel 19 is 462.650.  If you need further assistance or have questions, feel free to email us at don@mctx-react.org at any time.
